I have been working on a project called "PearGuide" for quite some time. The aim of the project is to become a "virtual television network", and create a network similar to the 1995 Prevue Channel era. The website is at: http://peargrid.com/guide/. A stream is available 24/7 for you to watch, at mms://peargrid.com:8081, or http://livestream.com/pearguide (however this is not online as often as the mms stream.) Also, I need help with the News / Weather segment, since I'm not sure how to fetch data from an RSS feed, and create an image using the text from that feed. Any help with the project is appreciated!

Very nice!! I've tried to check out your stream before now but without success, it seems it's working for me now. Some of your clips on livestream are insteresting too! But Cmon share some of your development work findings with us here ;)

BTW you MUST re-insert SYSTEM disk into drive 0!

Pretty cool. A few things:

(1) Do you have any way to get the command prompt to not show up when it changes views? It looks kinda weird.
(2) What the heck is that sleeping turtle animation thing?? lol
(3) I'm not sure anyone here is going to be able to help you with your News/Weather segment, since we have no idea what software you're using with this and no idea how to use that software.

1. The first issue I tried to fix, however media player wound up covering up Windows Media Encoder, so I couldn't control the stream or anything.
2. The turtles were put there as a joke by Josh (joshua8901), and they kinda stuck
3. I have the weather part of that fixed, however I'm trying to figure out how to use an RSS feed from Yahoo News (http://news.yahoo.com/rss;_ylt=AjZCH43R ... xrA3Jzcw--) to create a PNG using the text from that feed.

A bit of a programming update, the meetings on PearGrid will be streamed live on Thursdays at 4:30 PM Central Time, or Saturday at 7:30 PM Central Time.
