Great videos! Thanks so much for posting! I believe both are from the EPG Sr. system.
Kind of odd though, on the longer one the channel listing has an entry for "Prevue Guide," but none for Electronic Program Guide. Was the EPG Channel not listed or something?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Maybe they just decided to call the EPG "Prevue Guide" instead. Or as you said it may not have been listed, but I don't see why a cable company would want to operate two Program Guides.

Thanks for sharing! I remember from my grandparents' cable system, they used to have the EPG channel, while in my area, we had Prevue Guide. I remember that my grandparents used to get the EPG channel up until the mid '90s. I remember watching it one day back in 1993. Thanks for the memorys.

AriX wrote:It seems that he also posted two videos, one of which I've seen before (just a normal Prevue Guide in 1992), and another of an ad being typed into the Amiga, which I have seen before, but it was shorter and in much worse quality. The ad input is obviously automated, since no human really types that way:

Not seen that one before, presume it's a repost of a repost at least?
The first version I saw of that one is still on youtube at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS_RfCJpi1s - I think swbrwnskins has some problem with his video encoder cos the new one jumps backwards and forwards a bit....
As per usual, I'm intrigued - automated on screen typing!? hmmm what could be going on there!

Apologize for bump again but lately I have been trying to track down the remaining "Lost" Prevue videos. A few have been uploaded within the past couple months but a few still remain.
One of the MitziDeMarco videos mentioned in the first post, "Cutting Class Mini Trailer (Prevue Guide)" can be seen here:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7tqtl ... shortfilms
I cant think of any more YT videos that are missing besides the rest of the MitziDeMarco vids. But there are several other possible lost videos outside of YT. Searching through the Prevue Yahoo Groups, I have found several still image captures that have yet to surface:
"Sneak Prevue (1998)" by joeseph_sobora:

I am responsible for two of the clips above. The Prevue Guide Satellite from what you are reporting as 88, and the Prevue Channel from 1998. I posted them a long time ago. I took them down for a couple of reasons: first I was afraid of losing my ID on YT due to copyright issues. Secondly, I wanted to see how far reaching those videos would go. And I was highly surprised of the response to those videos. Had I known way back when that there would be this site and others like it, I would have kept them online.
Anyway, if you see others with the TVGC from 1999 and the Prevue Channel from 1994 with the A1 Steak Sauce ads, I am responsible for those as well. The copycats took the previous videos I posted and took them as their own. Kind of interesting how that worked, by the way. Interesting experiment. You will notice parts of my videos on others original work, which actually kind of disturbs me. It's strange to see these Nick vids, etc. with your cable information. I don't know...
I did have those videos on video cassette at one time along with Guru Mediations from 1997 and 1998, as well as a clip from early in 1993, but being an idiot as I was back then and with no more space for movies on video cassette, I recorded over some of them. But the ones I kept, I went ahead and put them on a DVD.
I am thinking about starting another channnel on YT and if I do, I will repost these videos.
Thanks and hoping to solve the other videos as well,
Steven

I personally hope you do open another account and post your vids. I would not worry so much about people posting videos as their own - firstly it shows the content in the video hold some value and is interesting to some people. Second most of the reposters either fully acknowledge they have reposted a previously lost video, or are well known re-posters anyway - well known to anyone that is bothered about the subject anyway. If you were posting original works of your own then that would be a different story, however duplication and spreading of these videos can only be a good thing for archival purposes imho. As we have seen too many YouTube accounts have suddenly been closed for whatever reasons, and videos such as these lost potentially forever. For the small group of people that have an interest, that is a real shame.
As I say, I hope you do decide to open up your new YouTube account and let us see what you have!

Cool clips... swbrwnskins must have recorded the first two before they got removed, which I think happened a while ago. I've never seen those two. They do appear to be edited though, some sections were just taken out.
The last one I actually have seen before, somewhere. It's too bad that it only shows a short Prevue Family segment, as I really want to see more Prevue 1998/1999 clips. Still, it's a cool video in decent quality.
The "Prevue Family" clip was from my tape, not swbrwnskins. And "Prevue Guide" clip from 1990 was on YouTube before it got deleted. I downloaded the clip and save it all this time, and just recently uploaded it to my channel because this clip wasn't available anywhere.
