here is a 1990 tape of Viewer's Choice PPV in the style of Sneak Prevue BEFORE they were broadcasted. but im guessing this was done by tape rather than a Laserdisc. because the only difference it makes is Sneak Prevue's Laserdisc Pauses on every frame at the end while this may or may not be the same. im just wondering here.

That was the last 10 minutes of the PPV Promos that were only available for Cable Systems that had Viewer's Choice as their main PPV provider. Viewer's Choice used to run those in the morning on VC1 (now iN DEMAND 1) or if a Cable System didn't have recording capabilities then they could request a tape. Now, I wished that I had a tape of an entire hour when I recorded the WWF PPV promos and if there was any good movies to order for the upcoming month.

Good news! YouTube user kwvtads has sent me a DVD with all of the Prevue footage he had on his tape. If you've seen any of his videos then some of this may look a bit familiar. I've uploaded it into 2 parts here:

What was the matter with his tape? To me he must have recorded onto it too many times or had dirty heads. Anyways good Prevue video though.

Thanks for posting! Although his original videos were considerably higher quality. Did you upload it in as high quality as possible? It doesn't seem like it.

Part 2 contains an example of that one feature that allowed it to display or hide a channel depending on daypart. In curday.dat (at least in the version we have), this appears in the channel header as, for example, FF FF FF FF FF FF if it is to appear all day. Before 03:00 appears in the grid, at about 01:50 local time, it lists a Viewer's Choice 1 (VC1) channel 7, with "Off Air." as the programming at 01:30, 02:00, and presumably 02:30. (When the grid displays listings for 01:30, 02:00, and 02:30, no channel 7 appears at all.) Afterward, it lists a duplicate of QVC there, still with "Off Air." as the programming at 02:00 and 02:30.

i made this the other night. clock still jacked up though. i used the listings from the lineup of a motel 6 feed because comcast cable had too many channels to fit so i use theirs. it was the only way i could do it. i kinda messed up the audio in this one i think...

Maybe the video was recorded durring a heavy thunderstorm and the cable hookup he had likely didn't had it properly grounded. The cable signal could go out sometimes whenever lightning strikes.
