WeatherSTAR III Reverse Engineering Project

Post by hen7713 »

I had recently started a project focused on research and reverse-engineering The Weather Star III / 3000. Information about this project may be found here: http://hen7713.com/wxstar/

Very cool! Best of luck with this project, I'm definitely keeping my eye on it. Where'd you find all those different STARs??

I had bought them from a cable equipment reseller.

But if there's prevue machines, or maybe a sneak prevue, or maybe even by some chance a "the box", and you don't want it, you'll let us know, right?!

I'll be sure to let you know! I don't think they have any equipment like that, I'm not sure about "The Box", who manufactured that equipment?

No idea! I posted about it here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=177 all I know is it used a pioneer laserdisc jukebox, which may or may not be similar to the one discussed here http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthr ... 852&page=2 . That has reminded me I must go and find the article that explained how lifestyle satellite jukebox worked....

I was able to get the III to display some data on the LDL by simulating the installment of some weather sensors.
I set up a stream here: http://www.livestream.com/weatherstar or mms://hen7713.com:8079
