Re: 110 baud bit-banging
But who says the data demod card delivered the demodulated 110 baud data stream "as is" to the Amiga serial port at all? As you say yourself, RTS is a high/low affair. Maybe the demod card not only demodulated the 110 baud data, but also was the sole interpreter of it -- sending nothing m...

Re: The "1986 Warner Cable Channel Lineup" video
All I can add to this is that the basic design of EPG's grid was patented. Ari found some stuff on this earlier, if I recall. So if this was truly done with Texscan hardware, then it must have been through a deal. Because if it were just a knock-off, they would've been sued into the ground. :) Abou...

Re: EPG/Prevue Guide Videos
Hmm. I'll reply to that subject in this thread, so we aren't needlessly duplicating things.

Re: LISTINGS!
Okay, fair enough. Must have been a different version. What do you mean by getting ads to crawl though? The ads have some property that defines them as a crawl (scroll across the bottom of the screen) or scroll (in line with the channel information). Obviously this doesn't work in Grid, and possibl...

Re: 110 baud bit-banging
So now we have the problem of the CTRL: line. As far as we know, this is a 110-baud manually signalled/read data stream sent over the RTS pin. i.e. you should not ever be able to send data over this, and both the PC/Mac and Amiga don't have the usual buffers and stuff to send the data for you. The ...

Re: EPG/Prevue Guide Videos
The VBI stuff here and on Wikipedia was from swest77... I believe he either remembered this incorrectly, or it was explained to him badly at TV Guide, because it turns out that this data was never sent over any form of VBI anywhere. It was sent as an audio feed that was on the same transponder as W...

Re: LISTINGS!
Alright, sweet. Success under WinXP with WinUAE. http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6053/worksl.png For the record, nwgatwcfan's suggestion to check "synchronize clock" under Miscellaneous did not work. It did set the time in the Amiga environment (as verified by typing "date" at...
