Re: LISTINGS!
hey guys, long time no post :) Anyone make any progress on either a sender to send listings via serial or curday.dat generators? I feel comfortable coming up with the data to feed into the guide, but I'm not all that well versed on the format of the curday.dat or converting from something I can work...

Re: LISTINGS!
I've been working on my sender, and I put together a little demo of what it looks like right now... It only sends the first 9 channels of my cable lineup in the video, because the Atari starts acting a bit odd when you go beyond that (the Amiga does fine though). I'm going to work on this and see i...

Re: Prevue's Top Half
It is possible that one side or the other contained more "mainstream" channels that were much more likely to be on a given system. For example, HBO and CNN are going to be everywhere, but back in the day they may not have had Cartoon Network or Flix. I bet they tried the best they could to...

Re: New youtube videos
I am not sure if anyone caught this, but in the last 5+ years the following video has been on Youtube, I have yet to see this brought up. I never knew that Prevue showed a "key" to viewers at the 3:52 mark to tell them what all the little symbols in the listings meant... That looks like a...

Re: *New* Viewers Choice PPV Soundtrack from 1997.
I wish back in the day I knew how big of a nerd I'd turn out to be :) Our cable system used to descramble VC when they were running the promos and bumpers early in the morning. They'd run all kinds of promos, title cards, bumpers, etc. for the headends to record, split up, and use later. I probably ...

Re: New youtube videos
Well, the LD couldn't realistically have guide data because if they sent it out once a month, it would be stale pretty quickly. I'm sure most programmers know their schedule that far out, but others don't, and there are often lots of changes. Month-old listings would be very unreliable (plus, they'd...

Re: Prevue Emulation HELP!!!!
Well, for the local ads I'll tell you because it's kind of obscurely documented on the wiki: Hit esc, select diagnostic mode, and press Shift-1 until "Text:" changes to L In terms of inserting your own listings, check out some of the other threads in this forum. AriX has said he will relea...
