I see someone here also enjoys a little bit of TWC Classics like me in addition to classic Prevue Guide/TV Guide Channel. A great website too! :D
Ironically, I used to be interested in both channels back then since I always had interest in computers, technology, and media (and yes, even weather) since both The Weather Channel and Prevue Guide had their own unique way of displaying localized insertions over a national satellite feed. Though, I still watch TWC on occasion whenever a major storm occurs including what happened recently with Hurricane Laura. Pop on the other hand (the one that replaced Prevue/TV Guide), not so much.

It still makes me wonder why Landmark Communications (then the owner of The Weather Channel, now Entertainment Studios/IBM) never even considered buying out Prevue Networks or even United Video Satellite Group at the time. Back then, TWC and Prevue probably would have made a really good fit since both national networks always had their own localized insertions.

On a somewhat similar note, as early as 1989 (during the early days of the WeatherSTAR 4000), TWC attempted to have a similar program guide listings segment called "Prime Time Tonight". The three minute segment would air at every 27 and 57 minutes past the hour every night, but it was only available on the WeatherSTAR 4000 units and not all cable systems had it (especially for cable systems still had a WeatherSTAR 3000 at the time). "Prime Time Tonight" however didn't work out for TWC, and was eventually dropped around late 1991. Further reading about "Prime Time Tonight" from TWC can be found here:

Here's a short 42 second Prevue Guide video from Christmas Day 1990. It even features a rare Prevue Tonight narration:

Welcome to a glimpse of the Christmas Evening cable TV lineup, this is "Prevue Tonight".
