Yep, I remember that one as well! It had a different version of the "Prevue" ident from 1998 as well. Too bad, it cut off the "Prevue Online" promo at the end. I wish their was more of it. Therefore, I'm still looking for "Prevue Family", though. If only the video had started at 10:00 and was a little bit longer, than it would be perfect. Interesting, that the person who uploaded it, found it at "Goodwill". I wish my stores have rare tapes that carries a footage of "Prevue Channel" and "Sneak Prevue", along with "The Barker".

Thank you very much for this extremely useful information. </sarcasm>

Matthew, I'm pretty sure you mean well, but this sort of information is not particularly helpful, and is more spam than anything. Please stop posting random, useless information. Thank you.

Another YouTube member is also posting some Prevue Guide videos. I'm told that it's only 4 parts, so far he's uploading the first two.

Part 1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ybx1HDMw6wk
and
Part 2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI7wnd0W_gc

Both of them had some failure problems with the amiga. I even noticed the "Prevue Tonight" theme is very slow!

At about 3m22s into the video (Part 1), someone opens the menu and then selects Diagnostic Mode, where we see the select code XA22659.

Huh, that's very interesting. I really wonder how they assigned those...

Good vids, I like new vids ;)

Two observations:-

- the music is slower than I'm used to, how could that have happened?

- the disk between reboots is different %age full. Could it be that they were trying another disk - or maybe another Amiga?

tin, I agree. I like the new videos as well. It actually explains something that in another post (as detailed as it might have been), may have explained partially how the top half worked.

DId you happen to notice after the 2nd reset and the listings were popping in, the top half kept on hitting Pay-Per-View Movies? The system must be reading by channel number because Viewer's Choice (the Pay-per-view channel in this case) was on channel 1. It's odd that on the 4th video, all of the promos were Pay-Per-View. with the exception of Prevue Tonight.

Angie posted on a Prevue emulation thread of her theory on how the top half was selected (albeit in more detail than I probably would have given.) But what struck me was during the time that the promos were changing, the software would very quickly pull from channel list (Possibly the QTable or maybe even curday.dat) and compare the control data telling the system what two channels were appearing next in the top half. The software could have been designed to find the first channel that matched one of the two promos and then show the top half with that channel. I didn't think it was a possiblity, until I watched these last videos and then her explanation kind of made sense.

Do you think this might be right? We may want to compare some other videos and see if the same pattern occurs?

What do you all think?
