Stay tuned... there are more Prevues to come.

Discuss the reverse engineering and emulation (as opposed to simulation) of any sort of Prevue hardware, including Atari-based and Amiga-based EPG channels and the Amiga-based Prevue/TV Guide channels.

Sorry all - I've been so busy and haven't had a chance to dump these floppies yet. A couple of months ago I finally figured out how to do it but now I need to actually get it all dumped. I'll try to prioritize this - may have some time next week!

Some updates on this... I was able to dump the disks! I should be able to post them very soon.

Some notes:
  • I actually have two copies (two main system disks and two data disks) from different cable systems
  • Unfortunately, I think my Amiga's floppy drive went bad, and all of the disks seem to be damaged. I am still able to read parts of them - just a few files are inaccessible. Luckily I believe I got a good dump of one of the sets before they went. I'm looking into data recovery so we can get the rest.
  • The Sneak Prevue software doesn't seem as immediately usable as the Prevue Channel software. It doesn't have many/any graphics and it boots up to a screen that simply says "Fo". But I will still upload it for folks to play with!
  • I am sure there is some way to get it up-and-running. I'm guessing it's not going anywhere because it's trying to talk to the Pioneer LD-V8000 LaserDisc player over serial. Luckily, I've got one of those! But for this to be more broadly useful, we might need some code to simulate the LaserDisc player.

Hey AriX, good to see this!

I can send you another DD, or you can send me the disks perhaps - either/or - if that's useful.

Will certainly find some time to play with the images when you post! :)
