Discuss the reverse engineering and emulation (as opposed to simulation) of any sort of Prevue hardware, including Atari-based and Amiga-based EPG channels and the Amiga-based Prevue/TV Guide channels.

quickly hacking in a new date for curday.dat

Post by RiverNix123 »

if you are in the TV Guide software, open the service menu (ESC), go down to Diagnostic Mode, press C, and you'd get something like this

look where it says "julian day = *number*"

now open curday.dat in your favorite hex editor.

where it says usually something like "91 92" or "91 91", replace the 2nd block with the number that was in "julian day = *number*": Image

so if the julian day was "25" then the values would be "91 25".

if you did this right, save your file, reboot the Guide, then watch as you get listings.

if you dont know what i am doing, heres a 4 minute video of me applying the change, while telling you what to do.

Cool. Didn't know you could do that. (too lazy and at the time didn't know much about the Prevue software)
