Was thinking about that, because.....

I'm assuming from who's video it is, the PC-as-a-laserdisc-player code is now built into the DAPHNE emulator, which is open source I think. Might be worth a little inspect, although I do know of course the laserdisc games concerned use a player with a parellel interface, can't be too hard to repurpose the player code for serial, and emulate the LD-V8000's frame buffer.

However of course, this requires a sneak prevue program disk, and the data format discovered. Perhaps Im trying to run before I can walk.

Haha. Would be very cool, if we had the Sneak Prevue software, to emulate it and tie it into this. We'll see!

Hi, everybody! I'm a new member, but I'm a long time visitor/guest.
I was wondering if any of the most recently purchased Sneak Prevue
laserdiscs (October 1995, October and November 1997) will be
uploaded. I watched Sneak Prevue all the time from 1994-1997
but I have a soft spot for the 1995 media (backgrounds, music,
etc.). Thanks!

I have them recorded and I will upload them - so sorry it's taken me so long. I might have some time this weekend to get them into a reasonable format for uploading them. If I don't, hopefully the following weekend. Feel free to remind me if I don't get it done.

I'm extremely anxious to see the October/November 1997 LDs. This is the era that I remember best.

It's crazy to see a forum devoted to this channel(s). I'd watch Sneak Prevue all the time as a kid (most heavily during 1st grade -- 1997) considering my parents would hate the advertisements for all of the "adult" programming on Hot Choice -- i.e., the still images with suggestive narration -- and I'd go around repeating them every chance I could. One day, I said "Marilyn Chambers" so much that my father inadvertently put her on the "prayer list" at their church.

I just uploaded some Sneak Prevue and Prevue Channel footage from September 1997. We had MediaOne at the time. I'll upload more 1997 videos soon.

Somewhere on those October/November 1997 LDs, I'd be willing to bet money there are ads for "City Girls" and "Sexy Interludes." Kind of disturbing that I remember this...

Awesome footage, "metrodetroiter"! This was at the time, my cousin was living in an apartment in Hollywood. She had "MediaOne" (which her Scientific Atlanta converter box still reads "Property of Continental Cablevision" on the back.) and I always watch "Sneak Prevue" and "Prevue Channel" along with many others. Unfortunately, the Los Angeles Edition of "Sneak Prevue" didn't have the "MediaOne" logo on top until 1999 as "MediaOne Home Theater". Originally, it was known as "Pay-Per-View Preview Channel" and later, "Pay-Per-View Previews".

Also, I remember at 03:43, the Prevue Channel ID from 1996 was having a lineup where it said "Coming Up: "Prevue Tonight" and "FamilyVue" as schedule. The other version had "Prevue's TV Trivia" and "Intervue with Jim Ferguson". One time, Prevue Channel did have that same version but when they advertised other brands such as "Vanish Toilet Cleaner" or many others with a small Prevue Channel logo on the left.

BTW, I did a remastered version of the "Sneak Prevue" footage from March 27, 1999.

This time, I used the audio from the Sneak Prevue Laserdisc from 1997 and is in better quality than before.
I'll tried to rework on the August, 1999 Edition later when I have time, been busy working on other projects at College and finals is coming up.

Quite disturbing indeed.... :D At least your town would allow this to be displayed. Here in North GA, our Sneak Prevue only concentrated on PPV events or PPV movies. From our Sneak Prevue beginning in early 1994 to its demise in 1999, our's never displayed Adult ads or content. It would display the name of the program, but that was about it. There was only so much on Action PPV at the time and we never had Hot Choice, Playboy, Spice, etc... Actually, it wasn't until our digital rebuild in 2000 that any of these programs were offered and was part of the 20+ PPV channels at the time. What's strange is now all PPV channels (INDemand) are now Adult only. Go figure.

Anyway, just a bit of nostalgia (sort of). Welcome aboard and thank you for posting on YT.

Prior to April 1998, MediaOne in Metro Detroit had two PPV channels on basic cable: 54 (V.C.) and 55 (H.C.). After that, there were three different V.C. channels (one of which played a single film throughout the day), and H.C., which displayed the typical b-movies and "edited" pornography -- didn't even know they did this, but, apparently, in those days, adult "filmmakers" shot two versions: an explicit one, and one for PPV; guessing it was illegal in some parts of the country to broadcast certain types of images back then. This corresponds to the fact that your cable provider wouldn't even display the ads for them.

It's strange that none of the LDs previously posted contained a simple "MediaOne" logo; only "MediaOne Home Theater."

Here is more footage from a VHS I found the other day:

[not sure why, but YT cut the video short]
