Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

Haven't really figured anything out yet. I have only isolated the code that decompresses the payload and jumps to it. Have not analyzed it one bit yet, that will take more knowledge of the Amiga. Might even post a thread over on EAB in the coders' forum, to get some help. Might try to repurpose the ...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

Ok, I'm preparing to install IDA (the I nteractive D is A ssembler) to see if I can figure out how to depack these files. I'm not much for programming x86, and I haven't really programmed the Amiga specifically, but I do have 68k experience, so I should be able to fumble my way through such a small ...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

I'm almost certain that they are compressed - if you boot the system at standard 68000 7MHz speed, you can see the classic decompression effect of tweaking one of the palette entries, specifically the red color on the mouse pointer. Testing this by running some stuff manually from the initial CLI sh...

Re: Just for giggles :) Prevue Guide now emulated!

PD is in the Prevue disk's C directory, not the Workbench's. :) Or you can use the right mouse button, go to the Workbench menu, go to "Execute command", and type run <nil: >nil: df1:c/PD . You won't see any confirmation that it loaded, other than the disk in DF1 actually being read from.

Re: Select code

This one? http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/906/bv12.jpg ... Yeah, I noticed that one too and ... I honestly don't have a clue what it is! My best guess: it's an EPG Sr. Because it has no audio demod card, just a VBI decode card. And one of the VBI decode card's F-connectors (top one) is terminated ...

Re: Select code

You're the Amiga expert. Though from a programmer's point of view, I'm still waiting for someone to successfully feed data to the software that makes it try to paint one of those overlays. Whether the software at that point simply does nothing gracefully, or guru meditates, will reveal for sure whe...

Re: Just for giggles :) Prevue Guide now emulated!

Hate to say it, but the aspect ratio issue will come into play here - only in reverse. Notice how those logos look a bit skinny? That's because the image needs to be wider in Amiga pixels to fill up the proper "square-pixel" width once corrected for aspect. Give me some time to get good an...

Re: EPG/Prevue Guide Videos

swest or anyone else: Should you want to make a similar Amiga-style intro, let me know, I'll make a disk image with a startup-sequence saying exactly what you want it to say, so that you can bung it into WinUAE and export video from it :)

Re: Select code

but we have a disk from a machine that had 2.04 (2.1?) ROMS and therefor was supplied with a 2.1 disk. No such thing as a 2.1 ROM - 2.1 was Workbench-only. There were 2.0, 2.04, and 2.05 ROMs. 2.0 was the initial version supplied with the earliest A3000s as a SuperKickstart ROM image (in other word...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

What version of WinUAE are you using? The newer ones have options on the Filter page for aspect ratio, where you don't even have to do that, just set it to automatic aspect ratio (where it lets you pick the aspect of your display) and below that, check "Keep aspect ratio" and choose betwee...
