Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

What version of WinUAE are you using? The newer ones have options on the Filter page for aspect ratio, where you don't even have to do that, just set it to automatic aspect ratio (where it lets you pick the aspect of your display) and below that, check "Keep aspect ratio" and choose between VGA or T...

Re: Wiki

I'd still wager that there were different "versions" of the data format, all just backwards compatible (in other words, new versions were supersets of older version). Thus, I agree with your idea that we don't worry about versioning the format itself - all we'd need to do is denote the minimum softw...

Re: Wiki

That's not a bad idea. I think we should also give unofficial version numbers to them, so we know whether we're talking about a data stream for the EPG Jr., EPG Sr. (should we ever locate a copy), or Prevue. Perhaps call it "UVSG Satellite Data" (I never was too much on using the word format in the ...

Re: Wiki

You can do that with Photoshop (or other image editor) if you want. What I did was, I cropped the 760 pixel wide image I used down to 740, then resized it to 640 wide. It's not mathematically accurate, but it is close enough for display purposes. Also, please use PNG for all screenshots. JPEG for co...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

Yeah, I don't understand why they have the "sel" command when all you have to do to change the select code is edit uv-er. I'm thinking there might be something else that sel updates besides just changing the startup - either that or it was just an easier way they made to do it, instead of editing t...

Re: Prevue Channel System Disk

The reason I think it was automatically updated over the air is because it is a Prevue disk labeled 8.0.7 or whatever, even though the contents seem to be TV Guide and a later software revision. They obviously didn't just send them a new diskette, it was updated somehow. Just for the record, going ...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

It's even easier to get random screenshots like that without having to actually change the select code - just boot with no startup-sequence (as I gave instructions for earlier) and do esq <new select code> . Unsure as to the length, but I did a typical esq ? (on the Amiga, it is a common but not gua...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

Double-posting to notify - I have located a program called Fony that will import Amiga bitmap fonts and save as Windows bitmap fonts. Not really gonna try to make a TrueType font out of this right now, but there are three fonts on the disk, with some different internal names that appeared when I imp...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

:C/UVEd seems awfully close to Commodore's standard Ed command provided with the system. Not identical, but I'm wondering if they licensed source from Commodore and extended it (it uses the same keyboard commands, but will open files containing binary, and will give you hints in the window titlebar ...

Re: TV Guide Channel Emulation Working!

The disk had previously had several icons that were on the original 2.1 Install disks (of which I actually have an original set of :) ). They had been deleted, of course, but it shows that the first step they took when building the master distribution disk was to take a 2.1 Install disk and make a c...
