Re: [Download] Sneak Prevue Software

I'd have to check again when I get to my PC, but using a virtual serial port tool called "com0com" (which creates com port pairs that program can use to communicate) and a low level terminal emulator that I found (that I forget the name of, possibly "RealTerm"?), I only ever saw three lines light up...

Re: [Download] Sneak Prevue Software

Ok, so here's a full SnoopDos log (maybe a bit too verbose, but meh) until the point where it Gurus. It does appear to be opening both serial.device (the A2232 device) as well as oldser.device as two of the last things it does before the log stops, which seems correct given that diagram (serial.devi...

Re: [Download] Sneak Prevue Software

Unfortunately, if there are currently errors on the actual floppy disks, we may be stuck without further specimen. As best as I can tell, sts is not correctly decompressing on execution, and I've certainly not been able to decompress it any other way.

Re: Prevue fonts

Oh, and by the way, it's not really possible to properly preserve Prevue and PrevueC as TrueType fonts...they're both ColorFonts  Here is PrevueC 25 , both pixel-exact and aspect-corrected versions. That first glyph is Ctrl-A on the Amiga, which I think is equivalent to ASCII 0x01? Here is Prev...

Re: [Download] Sneak Prevue Software

I also soon plan on setting up an ersatz hard drive installation like tin did way back with the Prevue ADF, and see what SnoopDOS reports. But that's for tomorrow or the next day, it's getting late here lol

Re: [Download] Sneak Prevue Software

Would you be able to share your patched .adf when you get a chance? I haven't been able to make one, as the tools I'm using are just freaking out about the corrupt files. Sure. Here you go . For anyone wishing to boot this, make a backup copy , as I did see WinUAE's drive access light flash red a c...

Re: [Download] Sneak Prevue Software

Initial look at the ADF with DiskSalv indicates two additional damaged files besides S_SEGS and sts - fonts/Helvetish0/24.4C (which could very well be causing it to try to throw a "Font fail" error, and in fact comparing the ADF's file with the ZIP's does indeed show a difference) and c/assign which...

Re: [Download] Sneak Prevue Software

Initial examination follows: Off the bat - I believe the Sneak Prevue binary is the file called "vd". It's probably compressed like ESQ. I don't remember how we decompressed that one (I think perhaps it was PowerPack 4.0-encoded). Would love any help in popping it open! Also, I haven't been able to ...

Re: Swift Project for Prevue Emulation

I'm interested in this, honestly. I'd love to eventually rig this up to feed listings to an emulated Amiga (or at the very least generate a curday.txt). Gonna have to bone up on what y'all figured out in the last few years

Re: Prevue fonts

Holy crap, how did I miss this for almost five years? LMAO

Jeff, if you're still at all interested in this, I'd love to dig into anything Prevue you might have on that A3KT :P
